Abuja - Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos in the 2015 governorship election, Jimi Agbaje on Tuesday picked the nomination form to contest for the chairmanship of the party in the scheduled August 17 national convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, reports NewsDay.
Agbaje is believed to have the support of some governors of the party due to the respect he commands in the society and the absence of corruption cases hanging over his head, which the field of other PDP contestants do not possess.
The decision of the governors to push forward Agbaje according to News 24 stemmed from the need to present a neutral leadership that has not been tainted by the leadership tussle in the last few months.
Leaders of the party in the South-west had on Monday zoned the position to Lagos and Ogun States.
