Abuja - The People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
has suggested police investigate regional chairman of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), Davies Ikanya, for alleged complicity following recent
incidents of violence in some areas.
PDP Rivers State chairman, Felix Obuah, this was
necessary owing to the admission by Ikanya for admitting he was in possession
of the video clips of the incidents that occurred in Omoku.
Obuah argued this meant Ikanya was privy to the killings
and thus must explain how he knew those who masterminded the act.
“It’s against this background that the PDP believes that
Mr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya should know more than he has admitted through his
utterances about the alleged killings and should be interrogated to give
further explanations on the issue.”

The PDP however sympathised with the families of those
who lost their loved ones in the incidents.
Obuah said no reason or cause could justify murder.
“We therefore without any reservations condemn the
unwarranted waste of lives not only in ONELGA but also anywhere across the
state and beyond,” he said.
“It’s ungodly, criminal, stupid and unacceptable
to avenge or address any misgivings through blood-letting. This is barbaric and
obtains only in the animal kingdom.”
