PDP ex-ministers’ forum fails to reach consensus over zoning formula

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ministers’ Forum on Thursday failed to o reach a consensus on the zoning formula for the selection of its national officers at the forthcoming national convention of the party.

The former minister, who met for several hours in Abuja could not reach a common ground on the matter, especially the position of the National Chairman of the party, purported to have been zoned to the North-east.

The ex- minister, however called for transparent and credible congresses and national convention that will be in conformity and in line with the party’s constitution.

The forum in a communique read at the end of the meeting by the Chairman of the forum, Tanimu Turaki warned the party leaders against electing leaders that are not popular among the people.

The forum called on the reconciliation committee to immediately commence the process of reconciliation of member immediately.
