Akure - The two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have submitted different names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as their candidate for the Ondo State governorship election, reports Punch.
The camp of the National Caretaker Committee headed by Senator Ahmed Makarfi submitted the name of Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), while the Ali Modu Sheriff faction named Jimoh Ibrahim as its candidate for the election.
Both candidates had emerged in separate primaries conducted by the factions, reports News 24.
Ibrahim had emerged candidate of the Sheriff faction at a primary held in Ibadan, Oyo State capital while Eyitayo Jegede picked Makarfi’s faction ticket in the primary election conducted in Akure.

INEC’s Deputy Director on Voters Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang confirmed that the Makarfi faction has submitted a name, stating that the commission will look at the law and decide who the right candidate is.
The election is scheduled to hold on November 26.
