Abuja - Some chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are expected to meet in Abuja on Thursday evening to protest Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s chairmanship bid.
The chieftains, who are from the North-central, North-east, South-west and South-east are expected to take a position on the zoning crisis that has polarised the party in the last one month.
The leaders believed the new zoning arrangement was foisted on the PDP because of the ambition of the Sheriff.

The leaders at the end of the meeting may ask Sheriff to drop his ambition in the interest of the party.
The leaders have also indicated that they would organise a parallel convention.if Sheriff insists on contesting for the chairmanship position.
