Jalingo - In what look like a shocking reality, chieftains and members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba have deserted the party’s state secretariat in Jalingo, the state capital, reports Leadership.
This follows last Saturday’s verdict of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal that ordered the incumbent governor, Darius Ishaku to vacate office with immediate effect.
Ishaku was elected under the PDP platform.
The secretariat which was usually busy, was devoid of the usual normal business activities.
None of the party’s state officials reported for work on Monday.
Few members that came to the secretariat were seen wearing grim faces.
The tribunal had on Saturday ruled that Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was the rightful winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.
