PDP resolves crisis

Abuja - After weeks of turbulence which pitted the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party and its governors against the Board of Trustees (BoT), the party on Monday resolved to set aside their differences in order to allow the national convention go on as scheduled on Saturday, reports Thisday.

The crisis was resolved following e deal struck between the national leadership of the party and aggrieved members of the party’s BoT under the aegis of Concerned Stakeholders, the proposed amendments to the constitution is to be suspended.

According to Today, all the combatants at the end of the meeting agreed to allow the convention to proceed.

Addressing journalists shortly after the end of meeting, Chairman of the party's BoT, Walid Jubrin said members decided to resolve the crisis amicably in the interest and unity of the party.

He called on the various groups and interests to respect the collective decisions of the party, saying decisions were taken based on the principles of justice and fairness, “without sinister motives”.

The BoT chair urged aggrieved interests and members to seek redress through existing dispute resolution channels.
