Port Harcourt - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has called on the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi to resign following allegations of corruption, reports Daily Post.
Two judges, Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta according to News 24 alleged that Amaechi spoke to them on different occasions, to influence judgements of two different elections.
The judges were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly fraudulently enriching themselves.

However, Amaechi, in a statement released by his media office on Thursday, said the allegations are an attempt to smear and politically destroy his image and reputation
But, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Samuel Wanosike who spoke on behalf the party said the PDP in the state has been justified about its argument that the former governor allegedly misappropriated state funds.
“We as a party are asking Amaechi to resign so that he can be properly investigated. We are asking President Mohammadu Buhari to please do the needful for Nigerians,”
He said there is a moral burden on President Muhammadu Buhari to prosecute those whose names were mentioned by the judges.
