PDP USA tips Olayinka for Publicity Secretary post

06 May 2016, 17:24

Abuja - Some members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the United States have endorsed Lere Olayinka for the position of National Publicity Secretary of the opposition party.

They have made their position in a letter written to PDP National Chairman, Ali Modu Sherrif.

“Lere Olayinka’s loyalty to the party is highly commendable and for these reasons and many more, PDP-USA is endorsing him for the position of Publicity Secretary to PDP-Nigeria,” read the letter.

Olayinka is currently the Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.

“His technology and media skills have ensured consistent information through various media outlet (social and print), creating awareness of the various causes of our great party and promoting the accomplishments of the state,” a letter by the members of the PDP members in the US read.

The endorsement follows similar moves by PDP in Germany.

“With Lere Olayinka as the National Publicity Secretary, the repositioning of our great party ahead of 2019 to kick mediocrity out of Aso Rock has started,” PDP US members wrote.

Olisa Metuh currently holds the position.

His trial on allegations of corruption has left his position untenable.
