PHOTO: Tinubu, Atiku stick to APC

05 December 2016, 14:30Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Former governor of Lagos State Bola Ahmed Tinubu has calmed rumours making the rounds that he has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There were also talks that Tinubu, a national leader of APC, and other top politicians are in the process of forming a new party ahead of the 2019 general election.

But Tinubu has insisted he is not abandoning the party.

APC in a tweet on Monday quoted Tinubu as saying he will not dump a party he labored to build.

A photograph that accompanied the tweet has House of Rep speaker Yakubu Dogara, Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki and Tinubu among others.

News24 reported that some leaders of the APC are divided over the role Tinubu played in the last governorship election in Ondo State.

Some of them believed Tinubu, together with Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, worked against the interest of the party in the election.

Both men are accused of supporting the candidature of Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) with funds and other logistics for the election
