Police arrest 50 PDP youth leaders in Ondo

Akure - 50 youth leaders and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo State.have been arrested by the Nigerian Police.

The PDP members were arrested on Tuesday after honouring an invitation by the state Police Command

The youth leaders according to Daily Post were invited by the Police from across the state for questioning at the Police Headquarters in Akure,

But on getting to the Police headquarters, they were all harassed and threatened to fill undertaken form and thereafter detained.

In his reaction, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Banji Okunomo, who condemned the detention of the PDP youth leaders, said the plan of the Police in connivance with the APC-led Federal government is to create panic and make Ondo State look politically unsafe for the people of the state.

The party has therefore called on the Police to stop harassing its members and release those in its detention.
