Asaba - Some political thugs believed to be members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State were on Tuesday arrested by the police.
Their arrest follows a bloody clash that broke out between supporters of the two factions of APC in the sate at the party’s secretariat in Asaba, reports Vanguard
The party in the state according to News 24 has been engulfed in leadership crisis with a faction loyal to Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor and the other loyal to a Second Republic senator, Spanner Okpozo.
Trouble started when thugs armed with dangerous weapons including guns invaded the secretariat and allegedly molested members of the state disciplinary committee who were meeting to consider a report of anti-party activities against some members.

There was exchange of gun-fire between thugs suspected to be loyal to both factions.
Heavily armed policemen were immediately invited to calm the situation.
Some of the thugs were arrested and are currently being detained for further interrogation.
The police has since sealed offf the secretariat.
