Yenagoa - The police authorities in Bayelsa State have invited some former militant leaders ahead of the January 9 supplementary governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area and 101 polling units in six local government areas in the state, reports Punch.
Also summoned to the meeting are some supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other stakeholders in the state.

Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki had, through the head of the State Intelligence Bureau, Ondo Gbekumo, summoned the meeting to discuss issues bordering on threat to security during the rerun election.
The meeting, which would take place in a yet-to-be-known venue in Yenagoa will hold on Monday.
However, some former militant leaders have said they might boycott the meeting.
