Ribadu may defect back to APC

29 December 2015, 11:01

Osogbo - There are indications that the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu is on his way back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports Punch.

Ribadu ditched the party in 2014 to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the party’s governorship candidate in the 2015 governorship election in Adamawa State.

He lost the election to the candidate of the APC, Governor Jibrilla Bindow.

Indications that Ribadu was planning to rejoin the APC emerged on Sunday after a closed door meeting between him and the former pioneer chairman of the APC, Bisi Akande.

The meeting was held at Akande’s country home in Ila Orangun, Osun State.

It was gathered that the meeting which lasted several hours was held to prepare ground for Ribadu’s planned defection into the ruling APC.

The meeting was attended by the National Secretary of the APC, Mai Bala Buni.

After the meeting, Ribadu said he was at Ila-Orangun to reconnect with Akande, who he described as a father and statesman.
