Abuja - Controversy continues trailing the rerun election organised in Rivers State this past weekend.
This follows allegations officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were largely compromised.
INEC officials are said to have deliberately invalidated votes and cancelled units where APC’s Maureen Tamuno won.
This was allegedly done in favour of the rival the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Tamuno is a hopeful for the Okrika-Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency.
In line with the interparty spat, APC alleged most of those units affected by INEC's compromised acts were done with the connivance of PDP agents.
"Maureen Tamuno therefore wishes to call on all her supporters and good people of the constituency to remain calm and await the final outcome. Our victory is sure and cannot be robbed," she said.
APC urged INEC to collate and record the results from Okrika Ward 6, and declare Tamuno, winner and elected for the Okrika-Ogu/Bolo Federal Constituency.
