Abuja – The losing All Progressives Congress
(APC) candidate in the 2015 Rivers State governorship elections, Dakuku
Peterside, has congratulated the party’s Magnus Abe for his victory at the just-concluded
He described the victory as “pleasant and reassuring”
despite alleged odds set by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) against the
expression of the will of the people of Rivers.
“With this victory and those of other APC candidates, Rivers
people have an opportunity of rebuilding new structures of integration with the
centre and development based on genuine representation,” said Peterside.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers South East
for their resoluteness.
Peterside dedicated the victory to “all who sacrificed their
blood” in earlier elections to give the state a voice at the centre and good
Abe polled won with a total of 125 938 votes to defeat Olaka
Nwogu of PDP, who garnered 25 394 votes.
