#RiversRerun: APC youths protest detention of 13 members without trial

Port Harcourt - Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State have protested against the continued detention of 13 of their members for over three weeks without trial. 

The youths were arrested on the eve of March 19 legislative rerun in the state.

The protesters, who march through the streets of Port Harcourt before terminating at the state secretariat of the APC demanded the immediate release of the youths.

Speaking to newsmen at the APC secretariat, spokesman of the youths, Ikenda Clinton Elechi, said the youths were arrested on the orders of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 6, and have been in police detention since then.

Elechi stated that the detained APC youths include, John Chigbo, Courage Offor, Bobby Ezekiel, Chinedu Amadi, Henry Ohwonda, Morgan Ezekiel and Confidence Nyege.

Others are Bright Obarinwite, David Ogosu, Friday Birabel, Henry Dick, Dini Sani and Alhaji Umaro.
