#RiversRerun: PDP accuses INEC of favouring APC

31 March 2016, 20:27

Abuja -  Despite winning most of the seats in the results so far declared in the Rivers State legislative rerun elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of favouring the All Progressives Congress.

The PDP alleged that the electoral body was taking instructions from the APC on what to do with the outcome of the rerun elections, which the party won convincingly.

The Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, made this allegation in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.

Secondus noted that INEC has turned itself to a parastatal of the APC.

He stated that the Commission has not fixed a date for fresh election because it was waiting for instruction from APC.

In the results, so far released, the PDP has won four federal constituencies and 10 state constituencies while the APC won only in two state constituencies.
