#RiversRerun: Wike cautions INEC against rigging

Port Harcourt - Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has cautioned officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against subverting the will of the people in the legislative rerun elections in some parts of the state.

Wike, who spoke through his Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, urged INEC to act within the law, and respect the free choices made by the Rivers people in the recent rerun elections and release all the outstanding results.

Tam-George, who spoke in Port Harcourt on Tuesday warned the commission’s National Commissioner, Amina Zakari and Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister for Transportation, to desist from subverting the electoral outcomes in Tai-Eleme federal constituency, Ikwerre local government and other constituencies in Rivers State.

He accused INEC of withholding the results of these constituencies in collusion with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State
