Abuja - Senator-elect for Okigwe Senatorial District in Imo State, in the July 23 rerun election, Ben Uwajumogu,  said that it was not true that his emergence at the poll was targeted at dislodging the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, reports

He described the insinuation as mere wishful thinking , wondering how such feet can be achieved.

He stated that even if a change is been contemplated majority of the senators who will affect the change are at the moment loyal to the Deputy Senate President.

Recalled that some leaders of the All Progressives Congress in the South-east including Gov Rochas Okorocha of Imo State have said Ekweremadu will lose his seat to Uwajumogu,

Okorocha according to News 24 had specifically said it would be an aberration for Ekweremadu to retain his seat as the Deputy Senate President, after Uwajumogu had joined the Senate.
