Sheriff appoints opponent as aide

Abuja - The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has appointed Senator Sa'idu Umar Kumo as his Special Adviser on National Assembly Relations.

Kumo was one of the chairmanship aspirants who refused to step down for Sheriff and had to slug it out with the new party boss in the recent election conducted by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to elect a new party national chairman.

Sheriff also appointed Barrister Inusa Mohammed as his Principal Secretary while Uche Nnaji was named as the Political Adviser to the National Chairman.

He also appointed Senator Ighoyota Amori as Special Adviser, Reconciliation and Conflict Management.

According to a statement issued by the National Secretary of the PDP, Prof Adewale Oladipo in Abuja on Wednesday, the national leadership of the party has approved the appointments.

Oladipo stated that all the appointments are with immediate effect.
