Sheriff holds talks with Tukur over PDP crisis

Abuja - Factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on Monday met with a former National Chairman of the party, Dr Bamanga Tukur in Abuja.

The meeting, which was held at Tukur's residence according to Daily Post lasted for over an hour.

Sheriff was accompanied by his deputy, Dr Cairo Ojuogboh.

Speaking with newsmen after the meeting, Tukur who reiterated that he has retired from partisan politics, described Sheriff as his son, adding that he is open to giving advice to everybody.

He, however, stated that the crisis rocking the PDP won’t consume it, stressing that the philosophy behind the formation of the party ensures power belongs to the people.

Tribune reports that Sheriff after the meeting  said  “Baba is my father. Himself and my father were best of friends, I saw them together whether there is party or no party. As someone who is brought up by a parent and culture, whenever we have problem we go for advice from our parents.

“Baba is my father and I came to greet him, look at his health and also seek for advice and tell him my thinking and that is personal, we have discussed and it is not for the media consumption,”
