Abuja - Self-acclaimed National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff has threatened to drag the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to court, reports Today.
Sheriff's action follows the decision of INEC to give recognition to Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the candidate of the PDP for the Edo State governorship election.
Ize-Iyamu is the candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party.
INEC according to News 24 had said its decision to accept Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the PDP was informed by the court’s decision on the matter.
Sheriff is said of have accused INEC of taken sides when the court is yet to make a final decision on the matter.

He said the court judgment which the caretaker committee is hanging on to has been challenged in the Appeal Court, and that INEC is aware of this.
He stated that there are many court orders recognising him as the authentic Chairman of the party.
