Abuja - The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State, reports Premium Times.
The apex court on Wednesday dismissed an appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Inuwa Yahya challenging the victory of Dankwambo in the April 11, 2015 governorship election.
The court in its judgement struck out Yahya ‘s appeal for not being competent.

A panel of justices of the court agreed with the rulings of the two lower courts, which had earlier affirmed Dankwambo’s victory.
The state election tribunal had earlier confirmed the election of Mr. Dankwambo in the April 11 governorship election.
A Court of Appeal in Yola, Adamawa State, agreed with the ruling of the tribunal.
