Abuja - The new Minister of Niger Delta
Affairs, Usani Uguru, has called on staff of the ministry to work harmoniously
with the incoming administration for the benefit of the region.
Uguru said this while receiving the hand- over note from
the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Wakama Asifieka.
He urged the Directors and other top management of the
ministry to transparently guide the new leadership because they (directors) had
long been on ground.
Uguru said that the new team required the cooperation of
all staff including the messengers, to deliver on the mandate of the

“Be open to one another, when there is anything you will
want to hide, tell us and we will hide it well together. Avoid scheming for
popularity," said Uguru.
He encouraged teamwork.
"I believe in working together and not individual
championship,” Uguru said.
He charged departmental heads to come up with memos
detailing the requirements and activities of their departments.
“We are happy that we are going to work with Nigerians of
different backgrounds," he said.
"We also appreciate the fact that all of you are
going to guide the management team, both the Permanent Secretary and the
ministers,” he said.
Uguru was among 36 ministers President Muhammadu
Buhari inaugurated in Abuja on Wednesday.
