Port Harcourt - Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has raised an alarm over plots by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army to arrest prominent leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the eve of the March 19, 2016 rerun elections in the state, reports Leadership.
He accused the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, of writing a letter to the director-general of the DSS and the Nigerian Army High Command, requesting the arrest of the PDP chieftains.

Addressing thousands of PDP members at Luuwa in Khana Local Government Area during the 50th birthday of Senator Lee Maeba , Governor Wike said he intercepted the letter by Ikanya to the security agencies
The governor stated that the people of the state will resist any attempt to use the security forces to rig the rerun elections.
