Port Harcourt - Former Special Adviser to Rivers State Governor on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports Leadership.
Tariah resigned his appointment after the Rivers state governorship election petition tribunal nullified Gov Nyesom Wike’s electoral victory in October 2015.
Tariah, who made the declaration in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday, declared his support for governorship candidate of the APC in the 2015 general election, Dakuku Peterside.
Just few months back, the ex-media aide had been a strong critic of Peterside, APC and the former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, who is now Minister of Transportation.
He said he would do his best to ensure that Peterside emerged as the governor of the state should there be a rerun election.
He commended Amaechi for coming to his aid when he took ill recently.
