Lagos - Toro-Atlantic Global Limited FZE, a Chinese firm, has signed a partnership agreement with a local investment company, SLOK Nigeria, to build three information and communication technology equipment manufacturing plants in Nigeria.
The company said the plants would manufacture mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other ICT equipments.
The agreement between the firm and SLOK has been officially sealed in Lagos.
Dr Orji Kalu, founder of SLOK Holding, and Tiger Li, Vice Chairman of Toro-Atlantic Global Limited, signed the agreement.
Both company agreed to establish a one entity to be known as SLOK Toro-Atlantic Nigeria Limited (STA) to handle the establishment of the plants in three major cities in the country. The new entity according to the agreement will also engaged in Home Appliances manufacturing in Nigeria.
Speaking at the occasion, SLOK Managing Director, Orji Kalu, said the agreement between both companies raised the hope for local contents galvanization.
He also said that the partnership would help create employment while promoting technological and skills transfer.
Kalu added that his vision to grow his business beyond boundaries coupled with the strong and integrated manufacturing capability of Toro-Atlantic Global Limited FZE the Joint Venture would be a success in Nigeria.
Li said his company was excited to partner with Slok on a huge innovative venture.
