Johnson to open major ICT event

07 May 2014, 08:38Okoro Chinedu

Lagos – The Minister of Communications Technology, Omobola Johnson, has been confirmed as a guest speaker at the Nigeria Com, the country’s major technology event scheduled for later this year.

The event is taking place on September 16 and 17.

“We are excited to receive confirmation from the Honourable Johnson to speak on the chief regulatory panel about “Unlocking growth potential through robust national broadband strategy”, said Adam Thompson, the Conference Manager.

Nigeria Com 2014 is the fifth annual meeting for telecoms, media and ICT professionals in the region.

This year’s event will bring together the whole telecoms, ICT and digital ecosystem, with telcos, government bodies, new companies and entrepreneurs from the media and content sector, as well as disruptive players from the world of over-the-top-content (OTT).

“This is without doubt a crucial time in the development of Nigeria’s telecom’s industry. The national broadband strategy will soon change the game for all corporations, from operators, leading tech innovators and burgeoning enterprises,”   Thompson said.
