Local firm drives adoption of US solutions

22 January 2014, 13:07

Abuja - Computer Information System (CIS), a local firm, has organised a forum to drive the understanding and usage of Oracle solutions in the country.

At the forum held in Lagos, officials said it was necessary to educate customers and partners of Oracle because despite the popularity of the solutions offered by the United Staes-based firm in the country, most customers were still ignorant of their usage and benefits.

Speaking at the event, Nelly Saoud, CIS's value pre-sales and business development manager expressed the company’s commitment to delivering Oracle solutions locally.

She added that Oracle and its partners allowed businesses to focus on their core business while they provide them with IT infrastructure which is one of the latest offering that Oracle showcased at the event.

Saoud noted that CIS was well positioned to provide high level support to Oracle solutions in the country and beyond.

Also speaking at the event, Charbel Bou-Id, managing director of CIS Nigeria, said Oracle solutions would assist government and organizations in areas of transparency, governance, compliance, security as well as management of government projects.

“IT infrastructure affects every aspect of every organization. Effective management is crucial. High availability, responsiveness and adequacy are non-negotiable requirements of global corporations and require specific expertise and know-how that CIS provides.”

He added that today’s business enterprises competed within an ever-changing global business ecosystem.

“The constant pursuit of greater efficiency, increased productivity, lower costs, greater market share, and reduced time-to-market is driving corporations to redefine strategies and reengineer processes. In addition the Web is dramatically affecting the manner in which businesses and customers interact and present possibilities for highly creative business models,” he said.

Speaking on the topic titled, “Simplifying IT and Powering Innovations,” Olawale Obasola, technology consultant at Oracle said, “Things are complex nowadays. Businesses spend more on running the business as against spend more on how to grow the business. Oracle is the ideal partner for any business that is thinking on how to grow its business.”
