Massive response to NigeriaCom

16 August 2013, 15:39

Lagos - Organisers of the upcoming NigeriaCom, the region’s biggest information and communications technology forum in the region, have reported a positive response to the event.

A month before the conference resumes, Informa Telcoms and Media, the United States-based organizers of the event said more than 400 delegates have confirmed their participation.

More than 700 delegates are expected to attend the two-day conference that begins on September 17 in Lagos.

Thandi Demanet, Informa Telecoms and Media Conference Manager, was optimistic of a successful event.

“Things are running wonderfully. We are delighted to have a full agenda featuring all the major mobile operators as well as some smaller ones and Internet Service Providers. Etisalat is frontlining NigeriaCom and we are proud to have MTN, Vodafone, Globacom, Airtel, Starcomms, Visafone and Gicell also contributing,” she said in an interview.

“We have received great interest in the various sections of the programme, the most popular proving how dynamic the market is right now and confirming the trend of shifting from voice to data services. Digital entertainment, mobile money and the AppGig are all extremely popular, as is the ever-timely part on networks and connectivity solutions.”

As part of the pre-event marketing, organizers have issued a questionnaire to some of its key speakers drawn from the leading ICT companies.

“The response we have received has been extremely insightful and more than we had anticipated,” Demanet said.

Nick Jotischly, Principal Analyst, Regional Research, Informa Telecoms and Media will deliver the keynote address.

The fourth annual NigeriaCom will be held under the theme, “Working Together to Provide Quality Services Throughout the Digital Realm.”

Among subjects to be explored include network and connectivity, cloud services, mobile money, social media and digital entertainment and marketing.
