Abuja - Traders in the local stock exchange have received a major boost after an indigenous firm introduced a mobile stock trading application platform that is poised to make online trading on stocks easier and more convenient.
The firm said the online mobile apps which serves as a virtual stockbroking platform, will helping users to trade stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) from anywhere in the world.
Oluwole Abegunde, Managing Director, of Meristem Securities said the application, Neritrade, would ease the challenges that investors faced in trading on the stock market.
He noted that the innovation would offer investors control and convenience over their investments.
“The Meritrade app will give users a unique experience, convenience and control over their investments. Our customers can now trade and manage their investments 24 hours daily, with their mobile devices without having to come to our office,” he said.
The mobile platform has been launch in Lagos during an event executives from the local bourse attended.
Oscar Onyema, NSE Chief Executive Officer, endorsed the Meritrade app as a reliable and convenient mode of trading on equities in Nigeria.
He was confident the platform would encourage people from all walks of life, particularly the youth, including students, first time employees and civil servants to invest in stocks.
To be able to use the app, the interested person must have access to internet, an active e-mail address, an operational bank account, a moderate understanding of the stock market and a stockbroking account.
