Lagos – A solution designed to detect targeted cyber attacks is now available in Nigeria.

The Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform is said to be a premium solution based on the most advanced technology to date.

The technology draws on the Russian company’s expertise in the detection and analysis of the world’s most sophisticated threats.

According to Kaspersky, businesses all over the world, including Nigeria, have become victim to numerous targeted attacks.

This includes some discovered by Kaspersky Lab, including Careto, Desert Falcons, Epic Turla, Equation, Flame, Poseidon Red October, Turla and Wild Neutron.

Cybercrime is rife in Nigeria.

Phishing mails which is a type of social engineering has become the attack of first choice. This has been a recurring theme in years past but in 2016, there is a likelihood of more sophisticated use of these attacks with the aim to cause havoc.

In 2016, it is projected there will be more focus on the growth of local home grown hackers. Both ethical and unethical sects will gain more recognition.
