02 January 2014, 20:44

Abuja - Teams from 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory will participate in the National Finals of the 2013 NFA U-13 Football Championship taking place in Abuja.

Ademola Olajire, Assistant Director of Media, Nigeria Football Association (NFA), said in a statement on Thursday in Abuja that the championship will hold from the 3rd to the 7th of January.

It listed the 12 states as Niger, Plateau, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Bauchi and Gombe.

The statement quoted NFA's Director of Competitons, Sanusi Mohammed, as saying all arrangements had been made for the teams to have a good experience in Abuja.

"We have finalised all arrangements to ensure that the organisation of the competition is hitch-free and that all teams have nothing to complain about,'' he said.

"This is a very serious programme which has been fruitful and we are determined to take it to the next level."

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the competition will hold at the FIFA Goal Project at the Abuja National Stadium.
