25 Super Eagles players invited to camp

Abuja - The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has invited 25 players from the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and one from the lower tier for camping ahead, of the Super Eagles friendly against Niger Republic.

This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by NFA’sMedia Officer Ademola Olajire.

The players are: Chibuzor Onyekwelu, a striker from Fame Academy; ChigozieAgbim (Warri Wolves), Daniel Akpeyi (Heartland FC) and Moses Ocheje (Sunshine Stars), all goalkeepers.

The defenders are Azubuike Egwuekwe (Warri Wolves), Papa Idris (Kano Pillars), Juwon Oshaniwa (Sharks FC), Godfrey Oboabona (Sunshine Stars) and Ezekiel Henry (Rising Stars).

Others are: Francis Benjamin (Heartland FC),Umar Zango (Kano Pillars), Osuchukwu Ogonna (Enugu Rangers) and Kwambe Solomon (Sunshine Stars).

The invited midfielders are: Ejike Uzoenyi (Enugu Rangers), Sunday Mba (Warri Wolves), Reuben Gabriel (Kano Pillars), Izu Azuka (Sunshine Stars), Uche Kalu (Enyimba FC) and Henry Uche (Enyimba FC).

Others are: Obinna Nwachukwu (Heartland ), Christian Ofili (ABS FC), Solomon Jabason (Akwa United), Kabiru Umar (Heartland FC), Sanusi Sani (Gombe United), Sibi Gwar (Niger Tornadoes), and Philip Asuquo (3SC).

The statement said the players were expected to report at the Bolton White Apartments in Abuja on Aug. 5.

The senior national team is billed to play an international friendly match against the Mena of Niger on Aug. 15 at the Seyni Koutche Stadium, Niamey.

The friendly is a tune-up match for the 2013 African Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifier against the Lone Stars of Liberia in September.
