Umuahia - The Management of Abia Warriors FC has announced the indefinite suspension of one of their goalkeepers, Joseph Onuoha with immediate effect.
In a letter addressed to the goalkeeper and signed by the club secretary, Oliver Ndife, the management said the suspension was as a result of “gross insubordination and dereliction of duty.”
The letter, which ordered the goalkeeper to vacate the club’s camp immediately, also directed him to submit any club’s property in his possession to the appropriate authorities without delay and wished him good luck.

Last week, management of Abia Warriors gave the coaches and players of the team an ultimatum to win their next three Glo Premier League matches or be ready to collect only half of their monthly salary.
The club has however not played all the three matches.
During an emergency meeting which was convened at the club’s secretariat in Umuahia to review their 1-0 loss to Kano Pillars at home, and also attended by Board members and the Technical Crew, management expressed displeasure that the club has lost twice in only five home games, insisting that the club’s fortunes must improve henceforth. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.
