Adegbenro to the rescue for Viking to deny Strømsgodset

21 September 2015, 08:58

Abuja - Former Kwara United forward Samuel Adegbenro capped an evening of entertaining game with a 78th minute strike in the Tippeligaen on Friday night.

The in-form youngster proved his mettle with an excellent leveller for his team to secure a 1-1 draw with Strømsgodset at the Viking Stadion.

Fifteen minutes into the game, the young Iver Fossum put the visitors on the driver's seat with the opener.

Viking named a young starting line-up that also had youth international Suleiman Abdullahi alongside Adegbenro on match-day.

The explosive duo tormented the visitors and were duly rewarded for their resilience with full match action.

Viking were formidable on paper but they had to wait twelve minutes from time to grab a deserved equalizer through Adegbenro.

The result took Viking's tally to 44 points from 24 games.

Nigerian-born striker Marco Tagbajumi was a last-gasp substitute for Strømsgodset.
