Akpala and Saviour scores for Oostende in win over Beveren

13 September 2015, 09:11

Abuja - Nigeria attackers Joseph Akpala and Godwin Saviour were on song for KV Oostende in the 5-1 thrashing of Waasland-Beveren on Saturday.

It was the third goal of the season for Akpala.

Young talent Saviour netted on his debut for the club he joined in the summer transfer window.

The Belgian Pro League encounter was played at the Freethiel Stadion.

Akpala was on from start to finish while the tricky Saviour was an 83rd minute entrant for the visiting team.

Barely fifteen minutes into the match, former Club Brugge and Werder Bremen star, Akpala delivered the first goal for De Kustboys.

The Oostende outfit doubled their lead just over nineteen minutes later through Gohi Bi Cyriac's penalty kick.

After the break, it took barely four minutes for Cyriac to net two more goals for his hat-trick on the night.

Beveren then pulled a goal back through Steeven Langil before substitute Saviour rounded off a good night work for De Kustboys.
