Abuja - Celtic of Scotland defender Efe Ambrose has thrown
his weight behind Ahmed Musa to lead the Super Eagles to victory as captain in
tomorrow's AFCON 2017 qualifier game against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
"I am shocked some people were doubting his abilities
as a captain, he is somebody who leaves it all on the pitch, what else do you
want? Aside from being a personal friend, he is one player who takes to the new
players in the team in as fast as one can imagine, he is special in that
area" He told News24.

"I am confident he will lead the team from the front
going by his past precedence at the last World Cup, he literally kept us alive
against Argentina and during the last AFCON qualifiers in Abuja against Sudan,
he more or less dragged us to victory, too many of them to mention and Tanzania
by the grace of God will be one of such case".
On his part he wishes the Eagles well despite his omission
from the team and says he realizes everybody can't be in the team at the same
time or forever but, remains confident he will be back in the Eagles fold when
God says his time to be recalled has come.
