Abuja - Following
his official resumption as the National Technical Director of the Nigeria
Football Federation, former Nigeria coach Amodu Shuaibu has contradicted his
employers by insisting he will not be interfering with the selection
of players for the Super Eagles.
President Amaju Pinnick had a couple of weeks ago, stated that henceforth,
Stephen Keshi would no longer be solely responsible for selecting players for
the Super Eagles and would have to liaise with both the technical study group
and the Technical Director, but Amodu, a former Super Eagles coach himself,
disagrees with that, and insists only Keshi will be responsible for his team

is not my purview to select players for national team coaches,” Amodu said, in
disagreement with Pinnick, “It is their (coaches) responsibility.
I think I need to do is to ensure I work with them so that the best is always
available to play for Nigeria,” Amodu added.
57-year old was on Monday, handed his letter of appointment which makes him the
National Technical Director for the next four years and there were subtle
suggestions he might be influencing team selections for national team coaches
especially Stephen Keshi’s, but he says only the coaches can pick players for
their respective teams.
