Ameobi snubs Wolves for Cardiff City

08 July 2015, 10:09

Abuja - Newcastle United 23-year-old winger Sammy Ameobi is in Wales to conclude a loan move to Cardiff City for the rest of the season.
Ameobi signed a new deal with Newcastle United but the team believes a loan spell away from the Premier league will help aid his growth as in regular game time in a championship team which will help improve his confidence and consistency.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were rumoured to be leading the race for his signature after he held talks with the team's manager but, Cardiff City won the race to sign the lanky winger as he dreams of his chances of regular football which will be more with the Walsh side.
The loan spell will be his second since his debut for Newcastle United in the 2010/2011 season, as he spent 2012/2013 on loan at Middlesborough, where he made 9 appearances with a goal.
Last season he scored his first competitive goal for Newcastle United and went a step further with another, as he made 25 appearances in the English Premiership, his highest ever with the team.
