14 September 2015, 14:42

Berlin - Anthony Ujah was delighted to play a key role in Werder Bremen's dramatic 3 - 1 win over Hoffenheim on Sunday as his team climbed to sixth position in the Bundesliga standings.

Zlatko Junuzovi, opened the scoring for the Green Whites in the 45th minute before Eduardo Vargas restored parity for the home team four minutes out of intermission and the score stayed at 1 - 1 until Ujah popped up with an injury time winner after being set up by Claudio Pizarro.

The Nigeria international has hailed the contribution of the Peruvian icon, who returned for a third stint with Werder Bremen a week ago after signing a one - year deal.

''It was a game we went into and believed we could win because our opponents were under pressure to have their first win of the season,'' Anthony Ujah told news24.

''I won't say we were completely lucky as we went into the lead before they equalized.

''Pizarro changed the game for us with his assist for me to score, he will surely help us with his experience.''

Anthony Ujah and Werder Bremen will be in action next weekend in the Bundesliga when they host newly - promoted Ingolstadt.
