Bature in estatic mood after heroics against Burkina Faso

Abuja - Nasarawa United winger Yaro Bature was delighted to be on the score sheet for Nigeria in their 2-0 victory against Burkina Faso in Saturday's 2016 African Nations Championship final qualifying round, first leg match in Port Harcourt.

The former COD United youngster drew the curtain raiser for the Super Eagles against the Les Etalons in the game played at the Matri came off the bench to score.

“The performance was pretty good, although we can still improve in the second leg match in Ouagadougou,” the talented ace told News24.

“My maiden goal for the Super Eagles is worth a great deal to me. I was very happy when the ball went in. I believe that the plan of God is gradually manifesting in my life.

“Special thanks to the coaches, my team mates and the fans for being there for me at all times,” he added.

Meanwhile the home-based team will depart for Burkina Faso on Thursday for a return leg 2016 CHAN qualifier.

Nigeria defeated Les Etalons 2-0 on Saturday in Port Harcourt and the overall winners of this fixture will qualify for next year's CHAN in Rwanda.

A squad of 18 players will be named for the trip to Ouagadougou.
