Beach Eagles confident of retaining title

27 November 2013, 12:36Israel Ojoko

Lagos - Beach Eagles coach Adamu Audu Ejor says his team is set to defend the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer title won in 2012.

The third edition of the tournament hold at the Eko Atlantic in Lagos from December 13 to 15 with four teams to jostle for the coveted trophy.

Nigeria, Germany, Senegal and Lebanon will all be hoping to win the title, but Ejor said he is preparing his team to defend their title.

“Our only target is to defend the title”, he told News24 Nigeria.

“Senegal took part at the just concluded FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in September, and we know they’re in good form”.

“Germany is a very strong side in the game and Lebanon is a force to reckon with”.

“But we are not looking at names, we’ll go out there, play good beach soccer and retain out trophy”, he said.

Nigeria has won the previous two editions of the tournament.
