Abuja - Heartland have been eliminated from this year's Federation Cup by Akwa United in a quarterfinal clash in Ilorin on Wednesday.
After playing out a 1-1 draw inside 90 minutes, the holders Heartland were bundled out of the Cup competition 4-5 on penalties.
Warri Wolves secured the biggest win of the quarterfinals when they defeated Glo Premier League champions Kano Pillars 3-0 in Ilorin.
In Enugu, Akwa Starlets pushed last season's runners-up Lobi Stars hard in the last 10 minutes, but Victor Obinna's winner via Ezekiel Bassey's cross was enough to ensure a 2-1 win for Lobi Stars over a stubborn Akwa Starlets side.
Two-time Caf Champions League winners Enyimba also progressed into the last four following their 1-0 win over Nasarawa United in the day's early kick-off at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
