22 October 2015, 08:54

Abuja - Dolphins striker Godbless Asamoah added to his goal tally for the season, scoring his eighth as he helped his team to a 2-1 win over visiting Kano Pillars on Wednesday 21st October at the Liberation Stadium.

Adamu Hassan shocked the hosts before Asamoah showed quality with a brace for the relegation-hunted side.

Speaking with News24 after the match, the striker said he is only happy to help the team chalk up important wins at the home stretch of the current Nigeria Professional Football League season.

“I am happy to have scored two goals though the most important thing remains to help the team win the game. I am thankful to God and to my team mates for the goals and the win because at the club we are in the relegation zone and only winning can lift the mood," Asamoah told News24.

“I would also like to thank the fans for their continued support; and as a team we are united so we will continue working hard," the former Medeama SC forward said.

"We were a goal down but coach Stanley Eguma kept on encouraging us to continue to put them under pressure."

"This team is too good to go down, we will survive at the end of the season," he added.
