Calabar - The U. J. Esuene Stadium has been shut down for
repairs by the Cross River State government as preparations for the National
Sports Festival reach top gear.
Kickoff Nigeria said the disclosure was made by the State's
Commissioner of Sports, Patrick Ugbe, who informed that the entire sports
complex has been shut to the public for the time being to facilitate the
rehabilitation and repairs of the stadium.
The stadium has hosted the Super Eagles in recent years, and
has become a fortress for Nigeria national teams.
