Chievo joins hunt for Obi

11 June 2015, 11:19

Abuja - Chievo Verona have joined Atalanta, Genoa, Bordeaux, Saint-Etienne, FC Koln and Stuttgart in the race for Inter Milan attacking midfielder Joel Chukwuma Obi, after sources admitted the Nigerian could leave the city of Milano in the current transfer window.

Obi has failed to establish himself as one of the midfielders at Inter Milan, but he impressed in a loan spell at Parma.

Atalanta and Genoa considered bids for the 24-year-old last summer but both clubs chose to pursue other targets.

But the duo’s interest has been rekindled after close sources to the midfielder admitted that his six-year stint at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza could end.

And it is understood that Chievo Verona are the latest club to express an interest in Obi.

Currently on a deal with Inter until June 2017, the player might leave on a about 4 million euros offer.
