Chuma Anene joins Ogude and Uzochukwu at Amkar Perm

01 September 2015, 18:06

Lagos - Amkar Perm and FK Rabotnicki have come to an agreement over the signing of ex Norway youth international Chuma Anene.

The attacker has signed for the Russian Premier League team for the next two seasons, which has effectively drawn the curtain on his one - year stint with the four-time Macedonian First League champions.

It is envisaged that he will not have difficulties adapting to life in Russia, with compatriots Fegor Ogude, Brian Idowu and new Super Eagles invitee Izunna Uzochukwu all on the books of Amkar Perm.

''I did not speak directly with Fegor before I signed, but he has the same agent, who told me that he is excited and that it will be a very good step for me,'' said Chuma Anene to news24.

''Other than that there were not a lot of words exchanged, but I know about the club from before and did my research.''

Quizzed about his targets for the remainder of this season, Anene said: ''My ambitions are greater than just here. I am not going there for a vacation.

''The big step is hopefully a step towards an even bigger step and that's what I will work hard to achieve.

''I think I have a great chance to prove myself, and by God’s grace that's exactly what I will do from the second I get my chance.''

Chuma Anene was issued a Russian visa on Tuesday afternoon and will travel to Russia on Saturday, September 5 to join his new teammates.
