Court adjourns case of Nigerian player
London - A Birmingham Crown Court has adjourned till May 19,
2014 a match-fixing case involving 22-year old Nigerian player Hakeem Adelakun.
The player alongside Michael Boateng, also 22, on Friday
appeared before the most senior judge in Birmingham, His Honour Judge Davis QC,
the Recorder of Birmingham, who set the new date for trials, RTE Sport reports.
However, the players are to return at the same court to
enter their pleas on 7 March, 2014, ahead of the trial date.
Adelakun and Boateng were charged with conspiracy to defraud
bookmakers in Manchester between the period of November 1 and 26, 2013.
